From the Principal

Dr Nicole Archard

Welcome

It is lovely to have the opportunity to welcome back all of our families and extend a warm welcome to our 110 new families, without this being part of a Covid update! Whilst the girls have been back at school for two weeks now, we are beyond excited that on Monday (which happens to be Valentine’s Day) we are all back together again face to face. The girls have been resilient in managing the changes and challenges that have come with the new school year.

We have many new initiatives planned for 2022 which will drive our practice into the future and are aligned to our strategic objectives of being a ‘future looking school’ and a ‘school of choice and excellence’. I would really appreciate you attending our Zoom presentation on Tuesday 15 February at 6pm – 6.45pm so we can share these with you. We are entering a new phase of growth, development and innovation at Loreto College and everything that we do is aimed at delivering the best education that we can for your daughters and children.

To facilitate this new era, we have also expanded and reshaped our College leadership team, I have outlined the positions below:

Principal: Dr Nicole Archard

Chief Operating Officer: Mr Phil Kightley

Executive Director HR, Risk and Compliance: Mrs Anna Fitzpatrick

Head of Junior School and ELC: Ms Marika Snell

Assistant Principal Learning and Innovation: Dr Michael Boots

Assistant Principal Wellbeing and Engagement: Mrs Anna Partridge

Director of Learning Analytics and Technology: Mr Tim Bond

Director of Mission: Ms Martina O’Connell

Director of Boarding: Ms Kerry Houston

In addition, new to Loreto are:

Admissions and Community Engagement Manager: Mrs Laura Crafter

Events and Advancement Coordinator: Mrs Christina Fabbian

In order to support our growth as a College, we also have many new teachers and support staff who have commenced this year. It is exciting times!

Just on a personal note, last week I became a grandmother for the first time to a beautiful little granddaughter named Amelie; however, you must know that calling me ‘granny’ is a dismissible offence for staff and I’m yet to find a suitable consequence for students or parents, but I’ll think of one. That small issue aside, it truly is such a beautiful experience to welcome another generation of girls into my family, I feel completely blessed. Make sure you stop me and ask to see photos, I have about 100 of them…

In addition, regarding all the media concerning the Religious Freedom Bill and its impact on schools…at Loreto College Marryatville (and indeed all Loreto schools), we believe that you come as you are, and you are loved, accepted, and respected.

Here’s to great 2022!
