This Term we have 44 students travelling off the JTC campus one day per week to complete nationally recognized certificate qualifications, or authority developed workplace learning. Not only are these wonderful opportunities for learning and personal development, but they also contribute towards each student’s achievement of the Western Australian Certificate of Education. Get in touch if you would like to know more about how this works.

UNIVERSITY NEWS

It is open day season! Attending university open days is an excellent opportunity to ask the experts all your questions about courses and campus life. It is also an unique chance to get a ‘feel’ for the campus and check how long it would take to commute to and from. Well worth the effort. Bring your friends, bring your family! Try to get to as many as possible to gain points of comparison.

You need to register online to attend most open days- see links below. If you are interested in studying interstate, there will be virtual open days that you can attend- visit the respective university websites for more information.

Rotary Youth Exchange 2023

From David Cleary Rotary District 9455

Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) is currently on hold because of COVID. Rotary International has postponed the Program until July 2022. There is no certainty that this will still hold because of the rapid spread of the OMICRON Strain.

The Federal and State Governments also need to issue the Rotary with the appropriate forms to allow Inbound Students who would arrive in July 2022 to apply for their Student Visas. This is critical because it allows students to attend our high schools which is a requirement of the Program. If we do not have any Inbounds this year, we cannot send our Outbound Students away in January 2023.

The Program allows students aged between 15-19 years to apply. In Western Australia, students need to be no older than 17yo on both arrival and leaving to be eligible for the Long Term exchange.

Older students can apply for a Short Term Exchange which is twelve weeks in duration as can the younger applicants where no education requirements apply.

Students may apply through their local Rotary Clubs or online by the end of March 2022.
