From the Principal

Reflect, respect, celebrate

‘I hope that you share my optimism about the year to come and our future.
There will be challenges and there will be tough days. We will disagree on many things.
But, as I said, we are a good people.’
Governor General David Hurley, January 2022

The message from our Governor General is particularly pertinent in the early weeks of the school year. Thank you to our community for their understanding and support with respect to COVID communications this week. It is a steep learning curve for us all as we follow government guidelines and resolve how we can best operate and minimise the spread of COVID infections. We want the students, staff and families of our College to have a wonderful year and we will communicate regularly as the year evolves.

It is exciting to watch our Building Program continue. There have been some delays over the past few months, but we are very pleased with the progress that has been made given weather delays last year and some more recent COVID related supply issues.

It has also been good to have our car parks operating efficiently and the airport style drop off/pick up is assisting with traffic flow in the main car park. The library extension has had some delays due to challenges with underground services and we are anticipating it will be ready for operation in Term 2. The JTC Village of temporary classrooms will be in place for all of Semester 1 with the renovated classroom block due for completion at the beginning of Semester 2.

Our students, staff and families have been very obliging with the disruptions that a building program entails. School holiday periods are utilised very well by our builders but most of the work does have to be scheduled in school time. There are exciting times ahead!
