Principal's Report
Dear Families,
Welcome to our first newsletter for the 2022 school year.
Whilst the year didn’t start the way we would have liked, staff, students and families have once again demonstrated their flexibility and ability to make the most of the situation we found ourselves in.
It is wonderful to have all students back on site this week. We thank families for their understanding and following the current restrictions in place due to the continuing COVID situation. We remind families that to minimise the spread of COVID - 19, we are limiting access to the school grounds and will continue to implement a range of measures as advised by The Department for Education and SA Health.
We ask your assistance to keep everyone in our community healthy by:
- keeping your child home if they are unwell, even mildly
- ensuring you are wearing a mask and maintaining a physical distance where possible when on school grounds or when waiting at the school gate at the beginning or end of the day
- checking in using the QR code before entering the grounds
- encouraging your children in years 3 to 6 to wear a mask when indoors (we have a limited supply of masks for children available)
- only entering the grounds at the start of the school day if you need to access the front office or are delivering a Reception or Year 1 child to the Outdoor Learning Area behind the Red Unit. As the children are now becoming familiar with the morning routines, we now ask that only one parent/carer access the grounds and leave promptly.
In the event that a student or staff member tests positive to COVID, a notification letter will be sent home to affected families advising that your child has been identified as a classroom contact.
It is important that you read the notification letter as it outlines the actions that families are required to take to minimise the further spread of the virus.
Please ensure that you communicate with us if your child has tested positive so that we can fulfil our role to minimise further spread.
As we are restricting access to the site, staff are currently developing video presentations to take the place of our usual face to face Acquaintance Event. Please look out for further details on how to access the videos when they become available.
We have also adjusted the date of our Annual General Meeting in the hope that we can welcome parents on site for this meeting. Please note the meeting is now scheduled for the evening of Tuesday 22 March, 2022. Please look out for further communication providing details.
We look forward to your ongoing support as we navigate our way through the school term.
Kind regards,
Terena
