Student Accident Insurance

The Department does not provide personal accident insurance or ambulance cover for students. Parents/carers of students, who do not have student accident insurance/ambulance cover, are responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including the cost of ambulance attendance or transport as well as any other transport costs. Parents / carers can purchase insurance policies from commercial insurers.

However, in some circumstances, medical or other expenses will be paid by the Department where it is assessed that it is likely, in all the circumstances, that the Department is liable for negligent acts or omissions of its staff or volunteers.  For more information about the Department’s public liability claims process, please see: Negligence Claims Process.

It is the responsibility of parents/carers to investigate their preferred options in this regard. The Department cannot provide advice to parents/carers on the purchase of individual student accident policy or ambulance cover.

Personal Property

Pakenham Secondary College understands that staff and/or students may sometimes like to bring items of personal property to school.  Private property brought to school by students, staff or visitors is not insured and the Department does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage.

This can include mobile phones, calculators, toys, sporting equipment and cars parked on school premises. As the Department does not hold insurance for personal property brought to schools and has no capacity to pay for any loss or damage to such property, students and staff should be discouraged from bringing any unnecessary or particularly valuable items to school.

School Photo Day

The School Photo Day will be held on Thursday, 17th February. Students should wear their best possible uniform.

Each student has been given an order form with a unique code to take home.  The students hand this envelope to the photographer when having their portraits taken.  The photographer uses the order envelope to identify each child.  ALL students are photographed on the day.

Sibling Photos

The School Photographer provide a separate order form for parents wishing to purchase family photos. This is available from the school office prior to the School Photo Day. Sibling photos can be ordered online up to 8.00am on the day of photography. Between 8am and 10am on Photo Day a sibling photo can still be ordered but only using a cash envelope (available from the school office). The students must be sure to present themselves when sibling photos are being taken. Sibling photos cannot be ordered after photo day.

Payment

The School Photographer provide a secure online payment system. Visit their website's Online Order section and complete the details required. They accept cash, VISA and Mastercard. Credit Card payments must be made online. Cheques are no longer accepted. Parents can use the the photographer's online ordering system to purchase photos up to a week after photo day. All payments are processed by The School Photographer. Pakenham Secondary College does not take any payments for school photos
