Principal's message

Dear families

Thank you to all the families that have been reporting in with me when their child is diagnosed with Covid-19.  This allows me to log into the Department of Education Covid-19 Portal and report the cases to them if you haven’t already done so. Based on this information the Victorian Government and the Department of Education have extended the period of time that that are funding the Rapid Antigen Tests for staff and student until the end of term.

As I write this, the first group of year 7 students to attend camp have returned and are now resting up at home. The second group are now enjoying the activities at Arrabri Lodge and are solidifying their friendships. The camp plays an important part in the transition from primary to secondary school. For the majority of our year 7 students they haven’t had a camp experience for two years and this is the icebreaker for them and a return to “normal” school life.

I wish to sincerely thank all of the Junior School teachers who volunteered their time to attend the camp. They have done so because they believe that building connections with students outside of the classroom is one way to foster belonging.  The camp has been running like a well-oiled machine with Tess Molina, Director of Junior School, being at the helm and the Student Managers, Jeannie Ta and Petra Witt keeping the engine room turning over.

Meanwhile back at school we have continued to provide a stable and engaging curriculum for our students and run the many co-curricular programs that enhance the students daily experiences.  This includes auditions for The Addams Family musical and multicultural club to name a few.

All the best
