Library News

The library has been buzzing with classes and students during their free time.  To give you an idea of how the library is patronized, in February so far, over 700 books have been issued and over 1,800 searches of our catalogue have been conducted.  Staff have added over 380 new items to our collection to ensure our library is filled with contemporary resources for both wider reading and study.

Self-Care Display

The library has a variety of self-care books for students to borrow and browse including topics such as exercise, happiness, health care, healthy eating, mindfulness, reflexology, relaxation, techniques to de-stress, women’s health and wellness.  We regularly add to this collection as health and wellbeing is a key focus area at MGSC.

Book Club

Our new Book Club book for term 1 is the Downstairs Girl, written by Stacey Lee.  Book clubs are a great way to engage with students who share a love of literature as they will get the opportunity to read diverse books, share their ideas and gain new perspectives.  The library will provide book club titles to students and it is anticipated we will meet once a term during lunchtime.  There is an ‘expression of interest’ form on the library home page for students to register or they are welcome to email library@mgsc.vic.edu.au with their details.
