Games Group

It has been close to a year since Games Group was running (thanks for nothing Covid).

But it’s back, bigger and its ready to kick 2022’s butt.

Events for this Year

NSW Junior Chess League Secondary Competition.

The college will once again be entering the NSW Junior Chess League Secondary Competition.

This is a Chess competition with the other schools in the Riverina (with the winner going to play in the state final).

All students who wish to compete in the MCC Chess team, please email Mr Marshall (marshalle@ww.catholic.edu.au)  or Mr O’Reilly oreillyj@ww.catholic.edu.au.

I would like to thank last year’s team for their efforts. Certificate of Participation are on the way.

“Magic the Gathering” tutorials and competition.

The college has been approached by Sultan’s Hobby shop to run a “Magic the Gathering” competition and lessons.

The competition should start some time in Term 2, with tutorials this term (depending on numbers).

The competition may develop into a local school competition against the other schools in the area.

Other card games may be included if there is interest.

I would like to thank Jarrod Salton of Sultan Hobbies for offering to run this competition. Sultan Hobbies can be found in the top-block of Banna Ave.

                        Lunchtime Games Group

The Games Group is open during lunchtime in C7 (depending on staff availability to supervise).

Students can bring their lunch and play a board game or just find a quiet place to sit.

It is a friendly and supportive environment for students looking for something fun and different to do.

The timetable can be found on the MCC Games group webpage. There is also a list of games available, which grows larger each year. The list and timetable can be found on the student portal. I have included the link below.
