Principal's Report

Student Representative Council (SRC)

It gives me great pleasure to announce our SRC for 2022. At senior secondary school assembly today, we also announced our School Captain and Vice-Captain. The SRC will work together as a leadership team to build their leadership capabilities and represent the student voice at Monash. They will also organise ways for our students to participate in and enjoy school life. They have already been meeting regularly and been busy planning some fund-raising events for the year.

SRC 2022 representatives will be:

Teui Vaine-Tanga , Blair Anderson, Blake Hewett, Liam Hui, Marsha Yarovaya, Sara Wang, Dylan Han, Albert May

Congratulations to Teui Vaine-Tanga who is our School Captain and Sara Wang who is our Vice-Captain!

COVID Update

As you will know the use of masks in certain environments has been lifted. We will continue to wear masks when not in classrooms as we have Primary aged students onsite and we ask you to do the same if you are in our school buildings or at the front office.

Capital Works

Exciting news for our new building. The builder has been appointed and had their first site visit this week. The builders are McColl Smith, and they will soon be starting to set up the site to begin the building works.

McColl Smith Projects are a Melbourne based commercial construction company that specialises in the education sector.  They have a proven track record of delivering a vast range of schools throughout Victoria and have an intimate understanding of working within sensitive school environments.  They are thrilled to have been awarded this exciting new project and look forward to working closely with us, Cotter Reid Architects and the VSBA to ensure that the end result is something that the school and local community can be extremely proud of.  For further information on McColl Smith Projects and examples of their previous / current work, please visit www.mccollsmith.com.au”

Staffing Update

We are still recruiting for classroom teachers and ES staff and as soon as we have them in place, I will let everyone know. Although this process is taking longer than expected I am confident that we will find the best staff for our school, and we are doing everything possible to make that happen. If your child is in one of these classes and you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. The casual staff and our specialists are doing an incredible job of looking after the students in these rooms.

We are saying goodbye to one of our teachers Kimberley Page who has taken up a position as a pre-school field officer. We wish her all the very best in the next stage of her career.

Drop off and Pick up safety

Thank you so much to everyone for your patience as we have been implementing our new procedures at drop off and pick up in Secondary school. Please follow the directions of staff who are in high vis vests. Can I also remind you all to observe our speed limit of 5 kph and take the utmost care when driving on our school grounds.
