Whole School Literacy Improvement - Word of the week!

Continuing this term, we are going to introduce our young people to additional academic language via ‘Words of the Week’.

Over the next few weeks, the Words of the Week will have an emotional intelligence flavour to them. This coincides with the exploration of emotional literacy that is occurring in our Learning to Learn lessons. The three most common ways young people describe a character’s or person’s feelings are: happy, sad, and angry. It’s time to learn some new language so that you are able to name your emotions with precision, and describe them with greater depth! Learning the origins of this vocabulary also allows them to increase their understanding of other words. This, in turn, aids comprehension.

Your challenge is to use these words across the week in your speaking, reading, writing, creating, interacting, etc.
