SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Last Friday's swimming carnival was a fantastic success. It is testimony to our students, staff and parents that we could deliver such a successful carnival with such tight restrictions. Thank you to the parents who were able to join us and support your children being active and healthy.

PT&F AGM

On Monday evening the PT&F conducted their AGM for 2022. As part of the AGM we welcomed some new faces to the Executive. Our school community thanks the outgoing members for their tireless efforts and contributions. Congratulations and thank you to all of our parents who form the 2022 PT&F Executive

  • President:  Josh Johnson (Patrick 5HW, Madeline 4P & Eli 2I)
  • Vice President: Tatum Johns (Spencer 2M & Torah 1DS)
  • Secretary:  Jane Pryor (Eleanor 4B, Spencer 2M and Frederick KW)
  • Treasurer:  Leanne Cannon (Lily 3I and Georgia 1DS)
  • School Advisory Council Rep:  TBA: Please contact the PT&F if interested in taking on this role (stnicholasptf@gmail.com)

The PT&F is a wonderful organisation of committed parents working to support our students. Over the years the St Nicholas PT&F has raised considerable finances, which are directed back into our students. The PT&F has also played an extremely significant role in creating the community feel which St Nicholas is known for. Please, wherever possible, look to involve yourself in the PT&F.

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL

The first School Advisory Council (formerly known as the School Board) meeting will take place on Tuesday 22 March at 6.00pm. This meeting will also double as the AGM for 2022.

In the coming days I will be calling for a new member to join us on the School Advisory Council for 2022. Please consider nominating yourself for the School Advisory Council, as we work together in making a good school and even better school.

I would also like to formally acknowledge and thank outgoing member Mitch Williams. Mitch is a long serving member of the School Advisory Council and has brought great passion and professionalism in his desire for St Nicholas to be the best school possible. As principal of St Nicholas School I ask our parents to value education. Mitch has not only shown in his time that he values a quality education, but ensured we never shy away from the fact that St Nicholas School is capable of great things. Thank you Mitch!

PT&F COLOUR RUN

Please do not forget to register for the PT&F’s major event for 2022, the Colour Run: https://www.schoolfundraising.com.au/. This promises to be a wonderful night of great joy and entertainment.

MENS GATHERING

All men of our school community, regardless of religious denomination are invited to attend the ARMIDALE DIOCESAN MENS' GATHERING (ADMG) to be held at McCarthy Catholic College, Tamworth,  on Saturday morning, 19th March, starting over breakfast at 7.30am and finishing at lunchtime.

The principal speaker, Tim Davis, is a father of primary school children and pre-schoolers.

There will be an open forum with plenty of time for you to raise things that are important to you – perhaps mental health issues in children and families – perhaps how hard it is to be a man of faith today – perhaps helping children and teenagers navigate the online world in a safe way.

Saturday morning can be a busy time for kids and families with sporting commitments etc. If you need to leave early that is OK.

You can register here.

It can be hard being a father today. Those who have heard Tim or who have attended similar gatherings throughout Australia  endorse the experience.

Yourself, your family and our school community may benefit from your attendance.

Have a wonderful week!

John Clery
