Performing Arts Matters
It’s been a good week for Performing Arts with our Intermediate Concert Band performing at this Monday’s Assembly. The boys were excited to be performing for a live audience again and were very well received. Thanks, and congratulations to the boys and their ensemble director, Stella Talati, who was thrilled with the performance and the opportunity to be performing with the students. Based on this success of this performance we plan to have groups perform at assemblies on a more regular basis.
Student leadership and student voice is very important at SPX. I’m delighted to announce that at Monday’s Assembly we were able to badge our Performing Arts Captains for 2022. Congratulations to Tom Goodwin-Barlow and Justin Park on being named joint Performing Arts Captains. We look forward to their leadership and mentoring of our younger students and of course their contribution to Performing Arts at St Pius X in 2022.
Lastly, we would like to welcome to the PAPA Committee two parents. Tamar Avakian (mother of Luke Sarkissian, Year 11) has accepted the position of Secretary for 2022. Natalie Lenton (mother of Max Lenton, Year 10) has accepted the position of Vice President of PAPA for 2022. We congratulate Tamar and Natalie on their appointments and look forward to their support of Performing Arts at St Pius X in 2022.
We look forward to meeting parents at this year's Open Day, 19 March. A selection of ensembles will be performing on the day. A list of groups and times will be available shortly.
