Stage 4

During Week 8, Year 7 Purple and Red Humanities classes took their lesson outside to explore the historical aspects of both Armidale High School (AHS) and Duval High School (DHS) that have been incorporated into the ASC campus. Students from both classes worked collaboratively and explored the architectural features of I-Block compared to A-G Blocks, we looked at the different items that have been kept from AHS and DHS, as well as investigating when the school campus was originally built.

                                                                                                                      Miss Freeman and Mr. Lane.

Eighteen Year 7 students attended a Pizza Party to celebrate meeting or exceeding their reading points targets. Some students exceeded their points targets by over 1000%!!! Well done!

Da Vinci Challenge, Tuesday 29th March 22….

Mr Lane accompanied Stage 4 students from ASC to The Armidale School to compete in the Da Vinci Decathalon. We had some stiff competition from other local schools and some very challenging questions to answer, all based around the Decathalon's theme of 'Causation'. After an exhausting day and some particularly challenging questions, ASC placed in the top three for several categories.

Year 7: 1st Art and Poetry, 1st Creative Producers, 3rd Maths

Year 8: 3rd English, 3rd Science. 1st Maths, 3rd Ideation, 3rd Legacy

However, at the end of the day, TAS took home the trophy for Year 7 and Carinya Christian School for Year 8.

Thank you to the wonderful Year 7 and 8 teams who represented ASC extremely well. Their conduct and presentation was remarked upon by visiting teachers from other schools.
