Principal's Report

Carly Avery

Dear Parents and Friends,

Congratulations to our Year 4/5/6 students who represented St. Joseph’s at the Winter Sports Carnival last Friday. I was very proud to hear reports of their sportsmanship and the way in which they all had a go. Congratulations to one of our Netball and Hockey teams on bringing home trophies! A big shout out to Ian McVea who came along for the day to coach our hockey teams.

Australian greatest Morning Tea for Cancer Foundation and Celebrating Mary of the Cross MacKillop

Thank you to all who attended our "Australia's Greatest Morning Tea" and donated so generously. We were able to raise $500 for the Cancer Foundation which is a fabulous effort! Thanks also to the parents of the children in the "Mary and Brigid Social Justice Group" who donated their time and effort to provide the lovely food. Well done!

On Monday 8th August we are celebrating the Feast of St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Mary is our first Australian Saint and dedicated herself to providing education, shelter, food and comfort to people and families in need. Her motto was "Never see a need without doing something about it". At St. Joseph's we try to live this out by the way that we treat people around us, both here at school and in the broader community.

To celebrate her life we are having a special Mass at 9 am in the Church. Everyone is invited to attend and to come to the Morning Tea afterwards. If you would like to come, just ring the office so that we can cater for the food.

Any inquiries, just see Linda, Mardy or Irene.
