Student of the Week Awards Presented 5/8/22

Mason D. - 00L

This award goes to Mason for showing the HEART value of Excellence. He showed his growing independence by juggling strategies to work out new words while Reading. Mason has been independently ‘having a go’ solving words by trying different word options and blending sounds together. You should be very proud of your efforts Mason. You are a Scoresby Superstar!

Holly C. - 1/2D

Congratulations to Holly for always showing the HEART value of Excellence from the beginning to the very end of the school day. This week, Holly enthusiastically popped on her ‘poet’ hat, as she wrote a descriptive poem about the colour pink. 

‘Pink is as fluffy as a pillow.

It is as bright as a sunset’…

Rohith J. - 1/2G

This award goes to Rohith for his wonderful efforts in Maths this week. Rohith has been working extremely hard during our sharing unit. I want to commend him on his great attitude and always giving things a go. As well as being a wiz in Maths, he has been a great helper when the class is practising their ICT skills. Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed Rohith. Thank you for always being amazing.

Alvaro A. - 1/2K

This award goes to Alvaro for the way he accepts all his peers and classmates. Alvaro is a kind-hearted friend to all. He makes everyone feel welcome and includes everyone in his conversation.  He is often making himself available to be a happy classroom helper. Thank you Alvaro for being who you are. You are honestly a joy to be around. You have the BIGGEST HEART! Keep up the great work!

Ryan V. - 3/4B

This award goes to Ryan for the positive way he represented our school at Hoop Time. Not only did he try his best, he was also a wonderful team player. Ryan played fairly, encouraged others and shared the ball around to give the other people in his team a turn. You are a Scoresby Superstar Ryan!

 

Cameron T. - 3/4K

This award goes to Cameron, for the amazing sportsmanship he demonstrated at Hooptime on Tuesday. Cameron worked well as part of a team. He demonstrated our Scoresby HEART values, even when the game was not going his way. Well done Cameron, you are a basketball superstar!

Amy R. - 3/4S

This award is presented to Amy for the improvement she has made in all areas this year. Amy is completing more work independently and has improved the neatness of her handwriting. Amy, it is wonderful to see you being the first to sit on the floor ready to start the day.

Ches P. - 5/6F

This award goes to Ches for displaying the Scoresby HEART value of Excellence. During PONT maths he has displayed a clear understanding of what a fraction is, calculated equivalent fractions and demonstrated how he can add and subtract fractions with a like denominator. Ches completes his work with enthusiasm and is always eager to learn more. He should be very proud of his achievements!

Timothy L. - 5/6M

This award is presented to Timothy for being one of the ‘quiet achievers’ in 5/6M. Timothy has a natural desire to learn and takes on constructive feedback when it is given. Timothy has enjoyed our unit on Poetry and has experimented with blackout, shape and Haiku poems. Keep up all the great work you are doing Timothy!

Kaleb C. - 5/6W

This award goes to Kaleb for consistently demonstrating the Scoresby HEART Values. This week, Kaleb showed the HEART value of Excellence when he helped his teacher and peers without being asked. Kaleb, it is actions like this that prove why you are an incredible School Captain. It is a privilege teaching you again this year!

Piper W. - Physical Education

This award goes to Piper for showing the HEART values during PE every week! Piper always listens carefully to the instructions, tries her best and pushes herself to improve. She cooperates well with her peers and demonstrates wonderful sportsmanship. Fantastic work Piper!

Edelweiss T. - Performing Arts

This award goes to Edelweiss in her final week at SPS. Well done Edel for all that you have contributed to the Performing Arts program at our school. It was so lovely to hear you play for the class and you have improved so much. Keep up your piano practice and all the best to you! 

Noah T. - Performing Arts

Noah has been an outstanding student in all Performing Arts lessons. He has learned many songs and performed them with accuracy and fluency. Well done Noah and keep up your great music!  

Bailey C. - Mandarin

This award acknowledges Bailey for his work in Mandarin class. When learning about family words, Bailey could do the actions to indicate the different members of the family. Good work, Bailey!

Shianne Z. - Coding

This award goes to Shianne for her work in our robotics class.  Shianne explored various elements of the Sphero app and how to drive her Sphero robot before teaching herself how to block code the Sphero without any assistance. Fantastic start to our Robotics program Shianne, I look forward to seeing what else you will achieve in our robotics and coding classes.

Cooper S. - Coding

This award goes to Cooper for showing his leadership skills when helping is classmates develop their coding skills.  Cooper took on-board his responsibility of being an ICT Leader as he supported others in his class to work through coding problems and helped them in ‘debugging’ their individual codes. Wonderful effort Cooper! You make a wonderful ICT Leader!
