Equestrian

Welcome back to our Equestrian family for Term 3. It’s with great excitement that we saw Equestrian Services Australia bring their trucks in on Tuesday afternoon and complete the final stages of our large arena refurbishment. 16 bales of fibre were laid on top of our sand to create an all-weather, state of the art flexi-fibre surface which will provide a root structure, similar to grass and turf, stabilising the surface. This will add elasticity and cushioning to the surface so that horses will work on top, rather than ‘through’ the sand. It also means that we will be able to keep the arena open during the wetter months as we will not be at risk of degrading the arena’s structure.

This semester we have a number of clinics planned. The ever popular Fiona Normand returns September 3rd and 4th to again work with riders on their flatwork and horsemanship skills. We have local trainer Hannah Lynch coming to run a session aimed at our junior riders on working with their horses on the ground and Andrea Carrison- Reidel will come with a dressage focus on October 9th. We will also welcome Luciano D ’Elia, A level judge to our college to work with interested riders and we are hoping to welcome Adam Wootton to the college for our students with a jumping focus.

Lachy, Patch and Pebbles stand ready for anyone wanting to join our program, but without a horse, and we encourage anyone who is interested to reach out and come and see what we do.

To agistors, new forms have been sent out and we request you return those ASAP so we can best support you in the care of your horse.

See you at the EC!
