Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Do you want to: 

  • Be more aware of the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions in young people, 12-18 years? 
  • Increase your skills to have an effective conversation with your child about their mental health?
  • Have increased confidence to work with young people who may be experiencing poor mental health or in a mental health crisis? 

If so, I am seeking expressions of interest for a parent/carer Youth Mental Health First Aid training course. This is an accredited training course. 

This course will be exclusively offered for parents and carers of students at The Hamilton and Alexandra College, both Junior and Senior Campus. 

Course details: ** Tentative at this stage, will be confirmed. 

  • Dates: Friday 19th August & Tuesday 23rd August (please note, you must attend both days to receive accreditation) 
  • Time: 8:45am- 4:00pm 
  • Venue: South West TAFE 
  • Trainer: Kate Couchman 
  • Cost: TBC (could be small cost for a manual- $25)
  • 3 years accreditation- Youth Mental Health First Aid
  • Number of participants: maximum of 22.
