Guys and Dolls

As notes are erased, scripts returned, and costumes packed away for another year, there remains a lingering feeling of joy and pride for those involved in the 2022 musical production of Guys & Dolls, (particularly when passing your production family in the playground).

It is hard to summarise the experience into a short passage, but I wanted to take this opportunity on behalf of the production team to commend all the students involved in the production. I know all the staff involved will agree and echo the praise when I say we are extremely proud of the students, both on stage, and behind the scenes. Every year the students amaze me with their enthusiasm, energy, and sheer talent. They embraced the colourful world of underground dice-slinging gamblers, the glitzy showgirls, the pious missionaries, and the high-stakes romance that the story entailed. It was also exciting to work with a live orchestra this year, an opportunity to showcase the diverse talent that Kinross Wolaroi School has on display. I would also like to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, creativity, and expertise of the production team, (Catherine Litchfield, Seb Key, Riley Holland, Helena Rollo, Andrew Orme-Smith and Jess Rollo), who are truly exceptional at their craft. A special thank you to the families and friends who supported the staff and students both in the lead up and throughout the production’s run.

Again – well done to all involved! Bravo!

Miss Dunkley, Director

Post script: I’m sure that I speak for everyone when I offer a heartfelt THANK YOU to Miss Dunkley for her vision, creativity, leadership, drive and hard work. Directing a musical is not for the faint hearted and we are very grateful to Miss Dunkley for taking on this huge commitment.
