Fete Excitement Builds…

Our biennial Miners Rest Primary School Fete is finally upon us – this Friday 29 March.

An enormous amount of planning and preparation has gone into the event, which is to be held from 5pm.

Please do not allow students back on school ground after school has concluded for the day until the event opens at 5pm.  Vendor vans and vehicles will be moving around the site setting up for the evening, so please ensure no children are roaming back around the grounds.

A reminder that all students from all year levels must be accompanied by an adult to the event.

We hope you will all enjoy and embrace our fete that our students are very much looking forward to and have had much pleasure in preparing.

Unfortunately, the weather forecast doesn’t look kind.  We will notify the school community of the fete cancellation, should that be required, as soon as practical on the day.

In the event of inclement weather, the following re-scheduled day and time will occur.

12noon – 2pm on Friday 5 April (final day of term).

Student Led Conferences

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and support their child/ren in student led conferences over the past couple of evenings.

Your commitment to your child’s learning is an essential element of all our students achieving their own personal best and provides an opportunity to further grow your relationship with your child’s classroom teacher.

Note: Miss Russell’s Room 9 interviews will be held at the corresponding times and nights in week 2 of term 2.  Miss Russell will be on leave next Tuesday & Wednesday.

Important Appointments Finalised

We have recently held our Annual General Meetings for School Council, Parents & Friends Association and Kindergarten.

I would like to thank in advance and congratulate the following volunteers:

Ben Mihail – School Council President;

Alyson McPhan – Parents & Friends Association President; and

Larna Woodyatt – Kindergarten President.

Both Alyson & Larna return to their 2018 roles whilst Ben fills the big shoes left by David Harris after 6 years.  David is remaining on school council as an active member.

All three Presidents are backed by dedicated executive committees and general members – a big thank you also to those valued volunteers on each of the aforementioned bodies.

Sport Galore

We have a big week in sports coming up:

Tuesday is the Foundation to Year 2 Tabloid Sports;

Wednesday is our Year 3-6 Athletics Sports at Llanberris Reserve; and

Thursday is the Year F-6 Ball Sports on our school tennis courts.

Further details are attached to the newsletter and have been sent home on paper in hard copy.

Final Day of Term

A reminder that next Friday 5 April is the final day (already!) of term one.  The day concludes at 2:20pm, please be prompt with student pick up.

Term two begins on Tuesday 23 April, following Easter Monday.

Quote of the Week – a little indulgent this week…
