Respectful Relationships in Term 3

This term in Respectful Relationships, the students at Scoresby Primary School will be learning about the topic ‘Stress Management’.

Topic 5: Stress Management

Children and young people experience a range of personal, social and work-related stressors in their everyday lives. Activities within this topic have an explicit focus on teaching positive approaches to stress management. Assisting students to recognise their personal signs and symptoms of stress, and to develop strategies that will help them to deal with stress effectively, will help students cope with future challenges. The activities focus on the ways in which self-calming strategies can be used to manage stressful situations.

Learning in Year 5/6

In the Year 5/6 level, we explored the importance of gender equality and broke down different gender stereotypes in Physical Education. At SPS, students of all genders have the opportunity to participate in a range of sports. We created PE posters to show our support for gender equality and respectful relationships in sport. Check out some of our work on the wall near the office.

Coming up this term, we are looking forward to identifying different kinds of stressors that can occur in different places or situations and engaging in a range of activities, games and role plays to prepare ourselves, self-calm, manage stress and lift our moods.
