Learning & Teaching in Prep

100 DAYS OF SCHOOL

By: Prep PS 2021

On Monday 26th July, the Preps celebrated their 100th Day of School.  This is a big milestone for us!  We have learnt so much during our first 100 days of school and our teachers and families are VERY proud of us.

As it was lockdown, we celebrated on Monday with lots of fun Home Learning activities with our families.  We made cool glasses and made fairy bread using ‘hundreds and thousands’ (sprinkles).  We walked around our homes to find 100 words and we created artworks using exactly 100 stickers.

Once we returned to school on Wednesday, we had an onsite celebration too.  We dressed in our cool clothes and read the story ‘100 Days of Cool’ by Stuart J. Murphy.  We did lots of counting and explored what the number 100 might look like using concrete materials like unifix cubes and icy-pole sticks.  We made cool crowns and imagined what we might look like when we’re 100 years old, as well as many other hands-on activities all about 100.  Mr Welsford presented each one of us with special certificates to mark the occasion.

We all enjoyed our celebrations and loved learning about such a big number!!!
