Subject Selections for 2022
Term 3 is subject selection time! We commence our subject selection process next week for entry to the 2022 academic year. Through this process, Trinity aims to assist students in making the best possible decision about their choice of subjects for next year and their future pathway.
The following staff comprise the Pathways Team and are keen to assist you with your decisions: Ms Libby Ryan: Years 9, 10 and 11; Mrs Cheryl Pefanis: Years 10 and 11; Mrs Karen Hart: Years 10 and 1.
Subject Selection Process
Each student will receive a Curriculum Handbook distributed at school. Students will attend subject information sessions as outlined below. All students will receive an email from noreply@selectmysubjects.com.au with their log-in and passwords, which will detail the process of completing their subject selections online by the due dates below.
Parents/carers are asked to digitally sign the final copy of their child’s subject selections to indicate their consent with the choices submitted.
Subject Selection Timeline for 2022 subjects
Curriculum Handbook: Years 7-8 students will receive their Curriculum Handbook on Tuesday, 17th August. Information sessions about the subject selection process for students currently in Years 7 and 8 will be presented in Lesson 1 (Year 7) and Lesson 2 (Year 8) in the Jubilee Centre on 17th August. Years 7 and 8 students need to submit their choices by 11.30pm on 31st August 2021
Curriculum Handbook: Years 9-11 students will receive their Curriculum Handbook on Tuesday, 20th July.
Subject Information sessions
Year 9 students will attend Subject Information sessions in Lesson 1 on 21st July in the Jubilee Centre. Students will be given a general introduction about the process of subject selection as well as further information about accessing an advanced VCE/VET subject. Year 9 students interested in studying an accelerated VCE or a VET unit in 2022 must complete an application after viewing the VCE subject videos in the School links on SIMON to make their choice. Students who have queries about which subjects to select are advised to contact their current subject teacher and Ms Ryan for advice. Application forms will be available from the Year 9 YLC, Mr. Robertson.
Year 10 students will attend Subject Information sessions in Lesson 2 on 21st July in the Jubilee Centre. Students will be presented with the information regarding VCE and VCAL pathways and should bring their curriculum handbooks to this session. All students should have received a letter detailing an individual interview time with a member of the Pathways team over the coming weeks. Any student wishing to complete a VCAL pathway will receive a VCAL Expression of Interest form during their interview and must complete this form to bring for the following scheduled interview with the VCAL Coordinator.
Year 11 students will attend Subject Information sessions in Lesson 2 on 20th July in the Jubilee Centre. They will listen to a presentation regarding moving into Year 12 and the specific opportunities and pathways decisions for students entering their final year of school. Any senior students wishing to discuss their pathway are encouraged to schedule an interview with any of the Pathways team.
PLEASE NOTE: All Years 9-11 students must complete their 2022 subject selections online by 11.30pm on Thursday, 11th August.
