Senior Ball

Our Senior Ball for Year 11 and 12 students will be held on Friday, July 23 and students need to purchase tickets online.

This is a highlight of the year and something our students look forward to.

Year 12's are reminded to bring a plate of food for the shared supper.

On the night of the Senior Ball, all students are expected to be at the Activity Centre by 7.30 pm, when doors will close. Doors shall reopen at 11.00pm. Unless prior arrangements have been made in the form of parental explanation, no student will be permitted to enter or leave the event/school premises during this time frame.

Entry

Students are to use the eastern entry to the Activity Centre, proceeding through the landscaped quadrangle between the Rice and McAuley Wings before entering via the Cafeteria doors. This will be the only entry point to the venue. Supper will be served in the cafeteria later in the evening.

Ticket Arrangements

All students will need to purchase a ticket for the Ball. Tickets are purchased through this link: https://www.trybooking.com/BSHPG   The cost of the ticket is $20 per student which contributes to some of the cost of the band, decorations, refreshments and other sundries.

Lending Support to those in Need

As part of our Senior VCAL Personal Development Skills we had to work in small groups to identify and plan a project that would benefit the members of a community.

We had so many ideas it was hard to make a final decision. After talking to Gordan from Barwon Child, Youth & Family Services, we decided to put together packs of goods for local people in need.

We wrote letters and received donations from Coles, Woolworths, and the Colac Pharmacy. We also received a LOT of donations of soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes and band-aids from the staff at Trinity.

We sorted and packed all the goodies into bags and handed them over to BCYF to distribute to homeless people going into housing. The project was a lot of fun and very rewarding.

Olivia Montano, Emily Robinson, and Annie Makuey.

Winter Warmers just what was Needed

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to the St Vincent De Paul 'Winter Woollies' campaign. A total of 286 items were donated. A representative from St Vincent De Paul Colac, Meg, wishes to extend her thanks on behalf of the organisation: the generous donations came at the perfect time, enabling members of our community to stay warm this winter!

Dental Van Visit

During the week of August 2 to August 6, the Australian Dental Health Victoria van is visiting Trinity College Colac to offer free dental health checks to students. Forms were originally sent home with students in Term one.

If you have missed the opportunity to return a form (or it didn’t make it’s way home and is lying at the bottom of your child’s school locker!) there are still some sessions available for you to book.

Simply call in to reception to collect a spare form, and be sure to return it to reception before Monday August 2nd.

If you have any further questions, please contact reception.

Please use the Crossings

Can all families please be mindful of traffic safety around the school zone in peak times.

It is incredibly busy at the start and end of the school day and we do not want to see anyone injured.

We are witnessing students crossing Pound Road in the bus zone and to the west of there at peak times, which creates a real safety issue.

Any student being dropped off along Pound Road on the south side should go up to the school crossing for safety and to set an example for the younger students in the area.

Students are also reminded that if you are walking to school from the east or the south to use the crossings provided and stay away from the congested roads, particularly in the area of the roundabout on Hart Street.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Uniform Reminder

All students should be wearing correct school uniform at all times.

Winter uniform stock is available from our Uniform Shop, which is open on Tuesdays and Fridays.

When our students wear the Trinity College uniform correctly it promotes a sense of pride, both in themselves and in our school and gives them a sense of identity. Food Bank Volunteers

As you may be aware at times throughout the year, some families of our school are in need of help for one reason or another.  One way our school helps these families is offering a meal or two.

We are calling on families who may be able to assist in preparing a meal for a family in need.  If you could help that would be fantastic.

Listed below are some suggestion to make it easier for us all.  The idea is the family can reheat something easy to put on the table quickly.  Mostly it’s to ensure the children of the family are getting something good to eat.

Suggestions: Soup, Sausage Rolls, Quiche, Spaghetti Bolognese, Chicken Pasta, Casserole, Pasta Bake, Stir-fry, Chow Mein, Fried Rice.

You can also make anything else you would like as long as the meal can be reheated.  If you have time you may also like to make a cake, slice or biscuits to send along with your meal pack.  Foil trays and disposable containers are the best way to pack your prepared meal.

If you think you may be able to assist when needed please email cgrist@tcc.vic.edu.au
