During the past couple of months, the Parents and Friends Committee (PFC) have been busy organising a variety of different fundraisers and events for the Brookside College Community.

One of these events was the new PFC logo design competition. Thank you to all those amazing students who submitted their creative works of art; we had some fantastic responses and submissions. During our last meeting on the 15th of July, our committee members had a lengthy judging discussion of the entries, and we made a unanimous decision.

Congratulations to:

First Prize: Sophie 2D. 

Sophie’s submission fit all the guidelines and represented everything the committee was looking for. Well done and congratulations Sophie.

Second Prize:  Maddison 6A. 

Maddison’s submission was a close second. 

Her submission was bright and cheerful and followed the guidelines well. Congratulations Maddison.

Thank you again everyone who submitted an entry.

If you are currently not aware, the PFC is currently running a Pie Drive with Tony’s Pies, giving families the opportunity to order from a range of freshly baked delicious pies, pasties, quiches, and sausage rolls. All the products will be freshly baked and suitable to go straight into the freezer or onto the dinner table. Do not forget to share this fundraiser with your family and friends.

If you have lost your order form and wish to place an order, there is a Compass post placed by Karen Jackson on the June 24th with the order form attached, along with additional details on the drive and ordering. The form attached to this Compass post has also been converted so that you can download it, fill it in digitally, and return by email for your convenience. 

At our last meeting we also began to organise the Father’s Day and/or Special Person Day Stall for 2021. If restrictions allow, we have tentatively booked the stall for August 26th. We will provide you with more details as the date gets closer.

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday 5th of August. At this stage, the meeting will be held over zoom, but this may change with restrictions. We will be sure to let you know, and as always, we welcome new members all year round.  If you want to check us out, please come along.
