Remote Learning

We were very happy to welcome our students back onsite this week!

We hope that our Primary students and parents enjoyed using the SeeSaw Class platform during this Remote Learning period. You can also look forward to seeing more of your students learning via the SeeSaw Families platform with their return to onsite learning.

The Secondary students demonstrated great engagement with the continued use of the Compass platform while also participating in Zoom lessons for each of their subjects.

We are so proud of all of our students, parents and staff for the way they continue to be flexible and resilient during these Remote Learning periods.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Thank you for your participation in the Parent Teacher Interviews which were held remotely via Zoom on Tuesday 27 July. We hope you enjoyed discussing your child’s progress from the comfort of your home and not having to battle parking, wind or rain!

2022 Prep Enrolments

Brookside College is currently and will continue to accept 2022 Prep enrolments.

If you have a child/ren currently attending Brookside and you will have a child beginning Prep in 2022, he/she will still be required to go through the enrolment process. Your child will not be automatically enrolled. Please refer to ‘Enrolments’ under the Prospective Families’ tab on the school’s website to find the list of documentation required to bring before completing an enrolment form. For any other questions, please contact the school.

This term we will also be holding Q&A sessions for prospective families to have the opportunity to receive information about our school as well as ask questions.

The Q&A sessions are scheduled as follows:

Thursday 26th August 1:45pm-2:15pm

Thursday 26th August 6:00pm-6:30pm

Thursday 2nd September 1:45pm-2:15pm

Thursday 2nd September 6:00pm-6:30pm

For prospective families who are interested in registering for a Q&A session, please click on this link. For further information, please direct any family and/or friends who are interested in enrolling their child to Brookside College and they reside within the zone, to either contact the school on 7379 1555 or to visit the school’s website Brookside.p9@education.vic.gov.au

Olympics

The Olympics have got off to a very exciting start and we hope with this extra time at home you have managed to see the athletes in action!

Unfortunately, due to lockdown, the Brookside Olympics Opening Ceremony had to be cancelled but we are hoping to still acknowledge this unique event with a Closing Ceremony once students return onsite. If COVID restrictions allow this event to go ahead more information will be sent via Compass.

Curriculum Day

On Friday 13th August the Brookside College staff will be participating in professional learning regarding the curriculum. The school will be closed on this day. Out of School Hours care via Camp Australis will be available for families who need it.

Pie Drive

Families are reminded that you have until Friday 30th July to order your pies from the Pie Drive organised by the Brookside Parents and Friends Committee. The more you order the more funds we will raise for our school. Please refer to the Pie Drive post on Compass for more information and details on how to order. There is now a digital PDF order form you are able to complete.

Book Week

This year, Book Week will be celebrated in Week 7 of Term 3 (August 23rd - 27th) and we have been working on a range of activities to engage the Brookside Community. Any activities planned will obviously need to take into consideration the most current COVID restrictions.

The most popular event The Book Week Parade will be held on Monday 23rd August. More details regarding this event will be given closer to the date and again will have to take into consideration COVID restrictions.

It’s time to start planning your costumes! Keep an eye on Compass for more information to come.

Take care and stay safe,

The Executive Team
