Unit of Work

Our Unit of Work is ‘The Culture of Our First People’. Students will learn about the traditional custodians of the land- the Wurundjeri people and the Kulin nation. Students will explore the local area and the way Wurundjeri people lived in the past and present. Some wonderings we will explore include:

•           What does the word Aboriginal mean? 

•           What does the Aboriginal flag represent? 

•           What is Aboriginal culture? (Music, food, lifestyle, stories, games, art, dance) 

•           Who lived in our community?

•           What is the footprint of Aboriginal Culture in our local area?

We are looking forward to sharing all of these learning experiences with you throughout Term 3. Don’t forget to check out the hallway in front of our classrooms where the students share a piece of learning each day that they are proud of!
