Year 11

Term 3 is quickly drawing to an end and so commences “Leadership” season. 58 students have applied for a position of leadership in 2020. This displays the depth of commitment and devotion this year level has for the College. From College Co-Captains to House, STEM, Languages, VCAL, SRC and many more leadership positions, the students have shown enthusiasm and the calibre of their applications has been outstanding.

The candidates for College Co-Captains presented their speeches to their year level and then to the rest of the College community. Voting followed the speeches and a series of interviews will contribute to the decision making. I wish all the candidates the best of luck and I thank them for their on-going commitment to our college.

On Monday 19 August, the entire year level travelled to the city to take part in an RE Seminar Day. The focus of the day was refuges, asylum seekers and the homeless. Many of the students gained a greater awareness of the difficulties faced by these people and a deeper understanding of the hardship they face.

Congratulations to Clara McEvoy, Natalie Mason and Kate Lowe who have made it through to the national final of The Titration Stakes. Well done girls! This is the second year running that they have made it through. What an achievement!

With spring in the air, it is also a timely reminder that the summer uniform will soon be back. Please check that is in good order and of an appropriate length. It is important that our senior students set a good example for our junior school members in regards to wearing the uniform properly.
