2020 College Leadership

The 2020 College Co-Captain nomination process is well under way. Students were asked to submit a detailed application form earlier in the term and 14 students have applied for the positions.

On Tuesday 27 August,  all applicants were given the opportunity to listen to a panel of experts in the art of public speaking. Thanks to Mr Beirne, Ms Sutherand, Ms O’Malley, Ms Smyth, Mr Murill and College Co-Captains Naomi Russo and Ella Allan who gave some insightful tips and advice on what makes an effective public address.

On Tuesday 3 September all 14 applicants made a three minute speech to their cohort on why they should be elected as College Co-Captain. All Year 11s then immediately filled in a paper ballot and vote.

On Wednesday 4 September, all applicants introduced themselves to the rest of the College community at a lunchtime assembly and all those students in attendance had the opportunity to vote.

In Week 9, applicants will undergo a group interview hosted by staff and student leaders and finally a short list of applicants will be interviewed by College Principal,  Ms Nicole Mangelsdorf. Our 2020 College Co-Captains will be announced on Brigidine Day. Students who have applied for all other leadership positions will undergo a similar process early in Term 4.

We wish all applicants the best of luck and thank them for stepping up and accepting the challenge and privilege of student leadership.
