Year Adviser News

Year 8 Year Adviser

Gemma Hanlon

We have had another busy year so far! 8T and 8S were lucky enough to participate in the Blacktown Area Community Centre program this term on Fridays.

Our last week of term sees eight of our students participating in MADDFEST on Tuesday night. We also have NAIDOC celebrations happening on Thursday to celebrate Indigenous Cultures. This year's theme is 'Heal Country'.  We are looking forward to our students participating in the concert and lesson during period 5.

A huge congratulations to Lachlan who has qualified for Sydney West Athletics next term!

I hope you have all had a safe and happy holiday!

Year 10 Year Adviser

Rhys Murphy

As the first semester of 2021 winds down, I would like to personally take this opportunity to commend Year 10 on their fantastic effort and participation across all aspects of their schooling so far this year. I have received multiple reports and comments from teachers in every faculty specifically congratulating Year 10 students for the work that they have produced and I personally could not be prouder.

Moving forward into semester two, parents and carers are reminded that students will be selecting their subjects for Year 11 and 12 early in Term 3. Please ensure that you or your child are asking any questions that you feel necessary as this is an extremely important choice that will shape the last two years of their education.

Parents are also reminded to ensure that they are continuing to pay for our upcoming school camp in Term 4 as this cannot go ahead without an appropriate amount of students having brought the money back. As always, I am contactable at any time via phone or email if you have any questions about the camp, or would just like to have a chat about how your child is travelling at school. I look forward to hearing from you.

Year 12 Year Adviser

Stephen Satmaka

As Year 12 goes into the final lap of their career at Evans, I remind them to hang in there, remember what goals they need to achieve and to make the most of their time here. Between their academic responsibilities and keeping track of their assignments, to their other commitments such as being on the SLT, working on the upcoming MADDFest year 12 is getting their head around finishing this stage of their life. I am still beyond proud of what they have accomplished this year and over the five years I have known them. Before I get too reflective and emotional, I know there is still a lot to get done for the year. So keep your heads up Year 12, we just have only a few weeks left and stick to the goals you want to achieve for 2021!

Excelsior!
