Principal's Report

Early Finish - Last Day of Term

Next Friday 26th June is the last day of Term 2. School will finish one hour earlier than usual on this last day. Please note that staggered pick-ups will still be in place, just one hour earlier than normal. The staggered pick up times for Friday 26 June are:

  • A-K 2:10pm
  • L-Z 2:30pm

What a Term!

The word unprecedented has been over-used by myself and millions of others in these last few months. So I have had to use my thesaurus (Google) to think of how to describe Term 2 in this last newsletter for the term. Some of the synonyms that seem appropriate when describing this time are unparalleled, unequalled, unmatched, extraordinary and remarkable.

And throughout this unique term, I have just been incredibly proud of the manner in which our entire school community has responded. In my last few newsletters I have thanked the staff, students and families for getting through this extraordinary time with such aplomb. However, I would particularly like to thank all the parents this week for the way you have responded to the changes that we have had to put in place. The way that you have worked together to make staggered pick-ups and drop-offs work, support your children in remote learning, not being able to enter the school grounds and coped with a myriad of other changes is remarkable.

Despite the challenges the pandemic has presented to so many families, you have still coped with these changes with a smile on your face and the amount of positive feedback, gifts and thank you messages that have come to the school and our teachers has really been amazing.

The gratitude that so many of you have shown to our staff, has really lifted them up and brightened their days. I would also like to express our gratitude towards you and thank you for making the school-family partnerships stronger than ever.

I hope you all have a safe and joyous winter school holidays.

A Message from Admin

A huge thank you to all parents and family members for reading and actioning the two emails sent out from administration last week.  The first email was the Student Enrolment Information details that we have on file for each student in every family, which we send out twice a year to ensure the data we keep on file for your children is up to date in case of an emergency.  The second email was the Parent Occupation Group survey, which allows us to confirm each family’s current employment and schooling status, which tend to change over time and determine the level of funding we receive from the Department of Education and Training.  Please, if you have not already done so, can you check your details and notify us of any changes by emailing kalinda.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

Enrolments

Enrolments are now open for 2021 and it would be great to start receiving your enrolment forms for students beginning in Foundation (or at other levels next year). The sooner we receive enrolments, the sooner we can begin planning for next year. Please find the enrolment form below and it can be sent to the school via post (Kalinda Primary School, 39-49 Kalinda Rd, Ringwood 3134) or by email to kalinda.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au

For any new families to the school please contact the school via email kalinda.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au or phone 9876-3289 and we will send you information about the school and organise a 1-on-1 video conference with you.

We are kind. We are resilient. We are respectful.
