Concerts

We are excited to announce the opportunity for all students to participate in ensemble performances for Term 3, in a three-part virtual concert series. Further information will be communicated in early Term 3.

Performances will be filmed on the following dates from 5:00pm;

First Ensembles Concert Filming, Draney Theatre - Wednesday 29 July 5:00pm

Symphony Orchestra, Big Band 1, Wind Orchestra 1, Chamber Choir, Guitar Orchestra 1, Chamber Strings and Percussion Ensemble 1

Winter Concert Filming, Draney Theatre – Thursday 27 August 5:00pm

Year 5 Musical

Well done to all Year 5 boys who performed and recorded “Pirates” The Musical on the last Friday of Term 2. We are currently editing the recording and will have the production ready for Parents, Grandparents and the College Community to view in Term 3.

Music Extension 2021

Year 11 students who are currently studying Music as a subject may be interested in undertaking Music Extension as an option in Year 12; The Music Extension syllabus provides an opportunity for students with specific abilities in music to extend their expertise. The subject assumes that Units One and Two of the Music syllabus (or equivalent) have been studied before commencing this syllabus. Marist College Ashgrove enjoys state-of-the-art music facilities and has been recognised nationally as a leader in the field of Music Education. Below is an example of a performance of Year 12 Music Extension Students Tom Wilkinson and Riley Brown. At the start of term boys will be provided with more information on what is involved in taking this subject.
