Dear Families,

Student Wellbeing:

Dear families,

What a great fresh start. Monday – staff preparation which included new timetables, yard duties, Student wellbeing preparation to understand the myriad of needs, interests, differences and similarities. Class set ups to maintain safety and sanitisations and of course, lesson planning at the need of the child. P-2 families received their social stories last week and Gr 3-6 students will receive their social stories tomorrow.

We have 3 programs running at the moment:

  • P-2 onsite ‘fresh start’ learning
  • 3-6 remote learning
  • 3-6 @school learning.

Trying to keep up with all of these 3 programs is a tad exhausting, so an easy way to communicate what’s happening is visually. Visuals are really important supports for reducing anxiety, telling a story, and reminding or revisiting routines and behaviours. Some good tips for families can be found at: https://parents.au.reachout.com/

LEGO COLLECTIONS

A reminder to everyone that I am still collecting pictures of Lego creations for our RHPS book. Please email them into me - mary.moore@education.vic.gov.au so we can collate into our RHPS Lego Masters booklet. Some of them are very creative.

We are also working on a time capsule to capture the memory of this unique time in your child's learning history.

Reminders:

  • No SSGs this term
  • Car Park - some big fails this morning. Please be patient. Reminder it's kiss and drop.
  • School Grounds - kiss and go. Thanks again for understanding. We want to remain at school and don't want to go back to lockdown, so please continue to comply.
  • Only students and staff inside our buildings. Phone the office for any questions or needs. Thanks for understanding.
  • Staff have new email addresses, however, all emails to the old address still arrive in our inboxes.

Have a wonderful week and see you at the school gate,

Cheers,

Mary :-)

Need support?

Here is a list of support agencies if you are needing external support. It is much better to reach out and make that call rather than increase the sense of overwhelm at home.

Your GP is a great first port of call.

If you are feeling down, go to the Beyond Blue webpage https://www.beyondblue.org.au/ and do the checklist. If you score above 30, please call a GP or one of the numbers below and seek hlep.

Smiling Minds is a fantastic app to practise calm each day. https://www.smilingmind.com.au/ has some great break suggestions for calming the mind such as Take 10 to be Zen

Around our School

As our Fresh Start to learning for 2020 is happening, it has been so rewarding to seeing the smiles around the school. Here are some photos capturing the week so far.
