Canteen

Hi everyone

I'm very excited to be coming back to the canteen very soon (although I may be lonely without my wonderful volunteers for a little while longer).

Canteen's first trading day will be on Monday 1st June.

I have scaled the menu back a little, as I will be working alone. Hopefully, we can get things back to normal very soon :)

A couple of things to note:

  • All canteen sales will be online through My School Connect until further notice. For the time being, there will not be any 'over the counter' sales at the canteen window.  Cash will not be accepted.
  • I have added a Recess Menu to MSC for snack time. These orders will be delivered to classrooms before recess.
  • Due to  concerns around COVID-19, Canteen will not be allowing the use of re-usable lunch bags or travel cups for lunch orders.  Orders will be provided in brown paper bags and paper coffee cups at no charge.                            Thanks for your understanding.

Last week the Quirk family made some Snickerdoodles. Yum.... Don't they look delicious!

As Prep - Grade 2 are already back at school and 3-6 will be back before we know it, this week I'm sharing a healthy snack that is perfect for lunch boxes.

Chewy Apple Oat Bars

1 1/2 cups Rolled Oats

2 tbsp Linseeds or Flaxseeds (or other seeds - pepita, chia, sunflower etc)

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

2 tbsp Melted margarine

3/4 cup Apple sauce

2 tbsp Honey

3/4 cup Sultanas (or other dried fruit - apricot, apple, cranberries etc)

Preheat oven to 200*C

In a bowl mix the oats, linseed and cinnamon.

Add the remaining ingredients and mix until well combined.

Pour the mixture into a 15cm x 15cm x 5cm tray lined with baking paper. Flatten with the back of a metal spoon until the slice is evenly spread.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and firm to touch.

Cut into muesli bar sized portions.

Please remember to send me a photo and let me know how you went if you have a chance to make them. I would love to see your results. My email address is:

See you soon!
