Year 7 News: Walking in Solidarity Project

Living the College and Gospel Values

The global pandemic of COVID 19 is challenging all of us, in many different ways. For each of us, we have our own challenges in being at home with limited socialising in person and more worries than we might usually have. The wonderful Cate Jacka and Year 7 Religious Education Team built in a Year 7 RE task specifically related to our college values of Strength and Kindliness and linked it to our Justice Charter, Walking in Solidarity. Walking in solidarity means that we create community, walk with each other and support those who might need us.

Please see the video below which showcases the wonderful work done by Rooms 70 and 71 (Mrs Sanjini Chandra and Mrs Jacinta Devlin), led by the very capable Ms Alana Wright.

Study Skills

Over the next few Wellbeing Sessions, students across the school have the privilege of being supported in age relevant study skills, run by Allen Dickson, which covers a raft of relevant resourcing for making the most of synchronous on-line learning. We hope that parents/carers might have an opportunity to discuss sessions with the girls and engage with them about the learning.

Elevate Parent Sessions

Focusing on the return to normalcy in schooling and study habits.

I would also like to alert parents to the following free webinar run by ‘Elevate’, a highly credentialed professional learning company.

As restrictions are gradually lifted, these tips will aid students in their transition back to normalcy and set them up for the rest of their academic lives.

We, the Year 7 Team, are very proud of the demeanour the Year 7 girls have shown in this period. We cannot wait to be back in the classroom with the girls!
