2023 Cyber Security Experience
2023 Cyber Security Experience
As part of the Victorian Challenge Enrichment Series, Quantum Victoria offered Year 7-9 high ability students the chance to engage in a Cyber Security-focused education experience.
This experience is at the cutting edge of engaging, team-oriented, game-based learning, with students working collaboratively to solve Cyber Security scenario-based challenges as they rotate through three workshops throughout the day.
Students in 8I ventured out to Quantum Victoria for a cyber security experience where they worked through a number of tabletop escape room challenges.
Students learned about image metadata, hashing, encryption, social engineering and digital footprints. They used this knowledge to repair damage from cyber-attacks by cracking passwords, finding hidden locations in images and even stalked someone in order to hack their accounts secret questions.
We were told Taylors Lakes students were the best group to have come through the program. One of our groups; Alex, Darko, Willow and Hannah, even broke the record for fastest time to complete one of the challenges. Congratulations must also go to Osanne, Amy and Alana who managed to complete all challenges of the day incredibly quickly.
Our excursion to Quantum Victoria, The cyber-security escape room (more like an escape… table)
Was fun none the less, and we did enjoy it. We really look forward to upcoming excursions!
