Excursion to BOUNCEinc: Developing Personal Identity, Emotional Intelligence & Healthy Individuals

The VCE VM 11 Personal Development Skills class went to BOUNCEinc on Friday 12th May, an indoor trampoline park, to help address our learning outcomes of personal identity, emotional intelligence and healthy living. During the excursion, we had the opportunity to apply the elements of emotional intelligence - self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills - in a unique and exciting setting.

We started the day with a group discussion on how to approach each activity, emphasising the importance of self-awareness and self-regulation. We were encouraged to take risks and try new things, but also to be mindful of our own physical and emotional limitations.

Throughout the day, we participated in various activities that challenged us physically and mentally, such as dodgeball, obstacle courses, ninja warrior gauntlets, high ropes courses and rock climbing. These activities required us to work together and communicate, which helped us address our social skills and empathy towards others. We also had the opportunity to plan and implement our own group activity to improve health and wellbeing. We created several group fitness routines using trampolines, incorporating cardio, strength, and stretching exercises. We used the tools and techniques learned in class to monitor our progress, evaluating the effectiveness of our routine and making adjustments as needed.

Our excursion to BOUNCEinc was a great opportunity for us to apply and demonstrate our outcomes in a fun and engaging setting.

Thanks to our teachers and staff for organising this excursion, we are looking forward to continuing our learning journey.
