Principal's Report

Dear parents,
Colour Run
The Parents and Friends Association has planned a colour run for the students for the final school day of the term, Thursday 6th of April for all students. The cost is $5 per child, with all profits going towards powering the Eco Shed at Middle Gully. Information on this event has been posted on XUNO and your approval and payment is required for your child to participate.
It is set to be a fun afternoon and we invite you to come and cheer your children on as they run around the oval to see out the term in a blur of colour! Mr O is setting up an amazing obstacle running course, while Mr B will be the DJ.
We will be acknowledging the Hindu Holi festival origins of the colour run in classrooms in the lead up to this event so students are aware that this is an element of a significant festival in Hindu culture.
School Drop Off Times
This is a reminder that children are not to be dropped off at school prior to 8:45am in the mornings. We are seeing more students arriving at 8:30am or earlier and there is no supervision. If you require before school care, please contact the office.
Headlice Checks
I would like to thank all the families who have opted in to the headlice checks at school so far this year. We are working through a significant outbreak of headlice here and the more students who get regular checks and complete regular treatments, the more successful we will be with eradicating the headlice. Other local schools who have implemented similar checks have eradicated the problem through this approach. Approximately 33% of children checked had either live lice or eggs in their hair last week. This will take a collective effort to get on top of. Your support is greatly appreciated, if you are unsure, you can call the office to opt into this program, you can also approve your child’s participation on Xuno.
Kind regards and Sampai jumpa (until next time),
Matt
