Recycling, Clean Up and Ocean Week

The past two weeks have been action-packed at Magill OSHC. Last week the children at OSHC engaged in a week of recycling and cleaning up surrounding areas. The Receptions cleaned up the nearby areas to OSHC and the juniors recycled soft drink bottles to turn them into pot plants. 

Week 6 is 'Ocean Week' and the middle primary children put on their snorkel and goggles to get ready for an ocean quiz and fruit eel making. The primary children put their cooking skills to use to make ocean jelly cups. Later in the week, the primary children had the option to work in different teams of ocean animals and put their pieces back together to solve the puzzle. The Receptions used their building and creative thinking skills in their sandcastle competition and the juniors made fishing nets and ocean cookies.

A new competition has started up in OSHC… the Lego Wall! Children are encouraged to use their magical minds to create a Lego masterpiece. Once they have created a piece, they find a staff member to take a photo and they appear on the Lego Wall of Legends! Lego is a popular activity amongst students at OSHC and we now have the opportunity to scaffold and document their play. We can’t wait to see more creations to come!

Carpark Reminder

We would like to remind families that the OSHC carpark is strictly for staff only - unless you require disability parking. This is for any time of the day, and all-weather conditions. This is due to safety concerns to ensure that no children are walking through the carpark with reversing cars and to avoid congestion with school and OSHC staff arriving/leaving for the day.  

We have also noticed some parents speeding into the carpark which is extremely unsafe.

There is ample parking available on Magill Road as well as at The Tower Hotel, so please park there and enter via the gate and pathway when dropping off or collecting your child/ren from OSHC.

After School Care: 3:05 pm - 6:15 pm

Vacation Care & Student Free Days: 7:30 am - 6:00 pm

OSHC is Closed on Public Holidays
