Year 7 - Cadet Class
Mrs Langenhoven and Mr Zanetti's Year 7 Cadet class had a visit from Western Sheild. The students learnt about introduced species and the impact these animals have on our native animals. The Year 7 class were then taught about Western Sheild's trapping process which is used to examine the breeding habits, population size and general wellbeing of a variety of marsupials. All the students set up traps and went through the process of identifying, weighing, measuring and recording observations for each 'animal' (a stuffed toy) in their trap. It was an interesting afternoon, and many students expressed an interest in pursuing a career in the industry.
