Media Arts

This semester in Media Arts Upper Primary and the senior school have been very busy creating storyboards that include the elements of media. 

Composition, Sound, Movement, Timing, Space and Lighting.

Upper Primary are making a puppet show with green screen.

Junior Secondary are making papercut animation.

Middle and Senior Secondary are making clay animation.

The Lower Primary students are learning to take photos and look at how they can use composition in a photo.

We will be hosting a Film Festival on the 16th of June to celebrate student work.  See the flyer for more details and I look forward to seeing you and your family there.

Milestone 2 - Key question.  How have I included the elements of media into my storyboard?

Upper Primary

Seren has included the elements of media into his green screen puppet show storyboard.

Jayden’s puppet show green screen is about him and Poppy catching crabs.  He has included movement, sound composition and timing.

Senior Secondary have begun making their clay figures and backgrounds for their clay animation.

Baylie has made a crab from plasticine for his clay animation.  His background has a green hill and a blue shark.  Baylie made the crab by working with an adult to see what shape the body of the crab was, what shapes the legs are.  He then made those shapes and put it all together.

Zach has made a tree.  His Claymation is about sustainability in the garden.  Zach has drawn green hills and blue sky in the background.  He has made a tree from plasticine by watching how an adult makes the shapes and copying.

Lower Primary photos

Lower primary have been learning about composition. They are learning to take photos with an iPad.  There are some that are already very good at this part!  We are learning about where things are placed in the photo.  At the top, bottom, middle or side.

Fred and I took a photo of Chilli.  She is at the bottom of the photo.

William took a photo of the pop up toy.  It is at the bottom of the photo.

Shilo took a photo of his troll.  It is at the bottom of the photo.
