Principal's Report
Dear Collingwood College,
Term 1 concludes! Congratulations and thank you to every member of the Collingwood College community for such a smooth and positive start to 2023. As always, great things are taking place across every aspect of our College!
In a particular way, I acknowledge new students and colleagues who have brought fresh energy, new friendships and great commitment to their new place of learning. I also acknowledge the warm welcome and support extended to all members of the Collingwood College community by existing staff, students and parents.
In just the last few days, we have seen our students and teachers participate in a number of key events.
Condell St Reserve – Students in 4C, 5C and 6C did an amazing job performing to the public on a perfect warm Autumn Wednesday afternoon. It was an event filled with great music, and delicious food showcasing the wonderful schools within the City of Yarra. Thank you to Naomi Durston for her hard work and support as well as our wonderful students and teachers who represented Collingwood College.
Iftar celebrations- It was heart-warming to see all members of our school community come together again on Wednesday night to experience Iftar, or the breaking of the fast, that is celebrated during Ramadan. I have never seen so many delicious curries, sweets and more. A huge thank you to our wonderful Community Liaison Officers (CLOS’s), Hussein, Hassen and Badria for organising and sharing this event at Collingwood College.
The College of Teachers play- As always, our devoted teachers gave up their time and gave back to the community a gift in the form of a play. On Thursday morning, the school buzzed with families chatting and eating hot cross buns and talking about the amazing performance.
We say goodbye to a number of staff members at the end of Term 1. We thank each and every one of them for their contribution to Collingwood College and wish them all the best in future pathways. Thank you for your service:
