Writing

Over the past few weeks, the students have been using different techniques to write persuasively. The students thoroughly enjoyed engaging in an activity where they had to create an advertisement to persuade a customer to buy or use their product. It was great to see the students in small groups, collaborating their ideas and presenting their topic in a unique way.

Maths

We have been working on developing effective mental and written strategies to solve problems involving the four operations. The students have enjoyed using the whiteboards to have rich discussions to solve challenging problems.

Leadership Day

On Thursday we had a Grade 6 Leadership Day. The students engaged in a range of team building activities that focused on being respectful towards one another. They reflected on their strengths and values and looked at how they can use these skills in their interactions with one another.

Leadership Teams

In the afternoon, students worked with their teacher leader to think about what jobs they can undertake. Each group worked really hard and have come up with some future ideas that they will continue planning.
