Captains' Corner

From our Chapel Captains Rachael and Heleni

While many other exciting events have been taking place, it was great to have the first Interschool Christian Fellowship (I.S.C.F.) event of the year on the 4th of March; the ice-skating social with Somerville and BBC. 13 girls went on the minibus for a chapel service at Somerville, followed by pizza. Then it was off to Acacia Ridge, where everyone had a try at ice-skating, with varied levels of success. Some of the girls amazed us with their skill, and some of the girls amazed themselves by not falling.

I.S.C.F. is a wonderful opportunity for students to build connections with people from our sibling schools and learn more about God in a supportive and welcoming environment. The next event, I.S.C.F. Day Camp is held at Somerville House on the 30th of April and 1st of May, and excitingly, has students from Sunshine Coast Grammar coming, in addition to Somerville, BBC and us.

As Chapel Captains, we were also invited to attend an I.S.C.F. planning meeting at Somerville House last Thursday, and it was wonderful meeting the Captains from the other schools. We look forward to seeing more people come to the events this year, as they are a great way to meet new people and strengthen bonds within the Clayfield community but most importantly, they are genuinely really enjoyable nights and allow us to experience new things.
