Jump Rope For Heart
I am excited to announce that St Edward’s School is participating in Jump Rope for Heart this year – a fantastic fundraising and physical activity program by the Heart Foundation.
By participating in Jump Rope for Heart next term, we are expecting to get our students moving. We’ll have ropes available on the school grounds and encouraging everyone to help raise funds for lifesaving research and support programs.
During the weeks of the program, your child will learn new skills, increase their physical activity, and learn about heart health. The program will end with our school wide ‘Jump Off Day’ on 9th June, 2023 where your child gets to show off their new skipping skills to their friends.

Cricket Win
Congratulations to our Year 6 cricket players who won their grand final on the weekend.
St Ed's scored 3/138 (Cooper Jones 60 not out, Gerard Joubert 15, Rory Macrae 16 not out, Jackson Hicks 11 retired).
The other team were 6/100 (Felicity Shields 1/7, Gerard Joubert 1/3, Harry Cooper 1/22, Cooper Jones 2/3.
Team consisted of Cooper Jones, Zac Robertson, Jackson Hicks, Rory Macrae, Gerard Joubert, Felicity Shields, Will Jeffreys, Harry Cooper, Joe Swain (St Xavier's Gunnedah).
Polding Cricket
The Polding Cricket Team finished 6th out of 14. Cooper made 51 not out and 16 not out (hitting winning runs with a four). Bowling figures were 1/5 (4 overs), 1/3 (3 overs). Congratulations Cooper! We are all very proud of you.
Netball
The netball season begins on Saturday 29th April 2023.
Draws will be published on the Tamworth Netball Association Facebook page each week.
All games are played either inside or outside at the Tamworth Sports Dome.
Training days will be up to coaches. All training sessions will be at St Edward’s Primary netball courts straight after school. Infants children can catch the Monkey Bus to the Primary.
Netball uniforms can be purchased through the QKR! App. We do have a small amount of second hand uniforms available for $20 each.
St Edward’s Netball Club will have 2 Saturdays over the season where we are the “duty club”. This requires us to help set up on a Saturday morning before games start, and someone to sit at the score sheet bench. Please consider helping out! Even if it’s only an hour before or after your game!
A lot of time and effort goes into putting teams together. We have tried our best to fulfill all requests.

Armidale Diocesan Primary Sports Council
The Armidale Diocesan Primary Sports Council is a body representative of the Catholic Education Office, Principals and Sports Coordinators from all Diocesan Primary Schools. The ADPSC offers a pathway for Armidale Diocesan students in most sports.
