From the

Principal

Dear Parents / Carers,

Welcome back to Term Three. I trust that all families have had a restful break. We have all returned from the break very refreshed and are continuing on with our work of adding value to our students’ learning. We work behind the scenes and undertake learning and research to make our best at Rowville Primary School even better.

We commenced Term Three with a Curriculum Day that focussed on the teaching of writing. During the day we worked with Alan Wright who is both an author and a consultant. The aim of our school’s writing workshop is for our students to develop a sense of self as an author. At Rowville Primary School we don’t use commercial packages or programs, we look at the needs of the developing writer (what they can do and where they need to go next) and engage them in personal writing projects which enable them to meet the needs of the curriculum.

We have also welcomed two new teachers to our team. Mr Mark Stanton will be teaching STEM. Mr Stanton has a passion for science, and I know that this will transfer into exciting hands-on activities for our students.

Mrs Kathy Clarke has joined our team as our Visual Art teacher. Mrs Clarke is a still life painter in her spare time and will inspire our students to be artists.

We also congratulated Miss Groves who has commenced the new term as Mrs Jones.

Twelve International students have joined Rowville Primary School from the start of this term. The hosting of International students at Rowville Primary School enables our local students to increase their cultural awareness and develop global perspectives on friendship. Each student is paired up with a buddy who supports them to navigate school in a new culture.

Rowville Primary School is celebrating its 50th Birthday later this year. We are currently making plans to host a birthday party from 5.00pm to 7.30pm on Friday 27 October.  There will be performances and a range of activities. Please save the date! Any families in the school that operate a catering business or food van are invited to contact me if they would like to be involved in catering for our birthday party.

ENROLMENTS 2024

Rowville Primary School is now accepting enrolments for 2024. Enrolments for Foundation 2024 are due by Friday 28 July 2023. Children who turn five by 30 April of the enrolment year are eligible to attend school. When transferring from interstate, overseas or from a local school it is helpful if a written report is available at the time of enrolment.

Please see below our Enrolment form, it is also available online or from the office.

Kind regards,
