Building Project Update

Our primary classrooms 1 and 2 have had a positive first week in their new classrooms, rooms 15 and 16. They are enjoying the new space and nice outlook of Belmont Park.

We are now emptying out the final items from our portables, 1/2 and 17/18.  Fencing across part of the primary play space will be installed in the first week of the holidays before rooms 1 and 2 will be demolished onsite and rooms 17 and 18 will be taken away.

Parent Car Park and Student Drop-off and Pick-up Arrangements

As communicated through Compass last week, from the start of term 3 for the next 18 months we will not have access to the car park next to the bush block.  We will have temporary student drop off and pick up arrangements during this time.  At this stage, I have only heard positive feedback from parents of the alternate arrangements that were proposed last week following a meeting with some parents.

From the start of term 3, we will trial student transitions through two access points.  The gate between Belmont Park and our school will be open at the start of the day (8:50 to 9:10am) and end of the school day (2:50 to 3:00pm) as one option to be used, parents and carers can park in the Belmont Park car park.  The other option is for students to be dropped off out front of the school at 9:15am.  We will review these arrangements in the first few weeks of next term.

We also understand that there may be some students who will need individual arrangements made for them to have successful transitions to and from school. We encourage parents and carers to speak with teachers to make these arrangements.

Students who travel on the Crown buses will have no changes to their start and end of the day transitions.

No Smoking or Vaping Permitted at School

We ask our community to support and abide by the 'No Smoking or Vaping' rule in schools.

In Victoria, a person must not smoke or use e-cigarettes on school premises or within 4 metres of any pedestrian access point to school premises.

Face Masks

We have an excess number of N95 face masks available.  If you would like any masks, please let our office staff know and we will send some home.

2022 Croydon SDS Annual School Report

Each year we publish an annual school report to the school community.  Our 2022 report has recently been endorsed; please see this attached for your reading.  This has also been uploaded to our school website.

Happy and Safe Holidays!

With only one more week of term 2 to go, this term has been a shorter term, and it has gone quickly, we have achieved a lot and students have demonstrated success.  They should be proud of their efforts and outcomes, as staff are, and I'm sure you as parents and carers are too.😊

I wish everyone an enjoyable and safe school break.   This is a good time to rest and re-charge the batteries!
