A very warm welcome was extended to special guest and community members who arrived on a chilly evening for the opening of the St Brigid Senior Learning Centre and Kennedy Hall building at Killester College. With the acknowledgement of the Bunurong people, the traditional owners of the land on which Killester is built, community elder Murrundindi opened the ceremony with a moving and powerful song and smoking ceremony. It was particularly touching to learn that his granddaughter joined him, for the first time in the acknowledgement of and welcome to country. The Co-Chairs delivered a rousing, warm and interesting address and the Principal, Sally Buick clearly very proud of the new build was very gracious in her thanks and recognition of all the teams that were involved in ensuring the project came in one time and on budget.  Business Manager, Sandra Rotunno was particularly thanked as this project will be her last before she retires as Business Manager at the end of the term.
