Visual Arts
Year 8 Art
Students have been working through their Painting CAT - exploring the work of 'Julian Opie' in creating their own Opie inspired self portraits. For this unit, students had to work through correctly mixing colours to match skin tones, as well as the application of flat, smooth brush strokes.
Printmaking
Some classes have been working on developing their Printmaking skills. Studentshave had to plan, design, and carve out their blocks before printing. Once printed, students will render their works using various materials, such as pencil, markers, and watercolour.
Year 7 Art
Students have just completed their Painting CAT - focusing on the style and technique of 'Vincent van Gogh'. Throughout this unit, students explored colouring mixing, painting techniques, and focused on interpreting and analysing the work of Van Gogh, resulting in a final artwork inspired by the Artist.
Year 8 Individualised Project Art Elective
Students undertaking the Year 8 Art Elective were given the opportunity throughout the semester to trial a wide range of materials and techniques. From this, students were able to focus on one specific medium to explore independently, resulting in students creating a 'final artwork' that explored a theme of their own choices. The final results were impressive and students really enjoyed the creative freedom they had throughout this elective.
Year 9 Visual Communication Design
The 'Packaging Brief' CAT gave students the opportunity to step foot in the mind of designers. Students choose a theme to become the basis of a new 'Funko Pop Vinyl' design. For this task, students had to work extensively to research their product, find their target audience, and construct a packaging net and a new character all from scratch. The results were fantastic, and student's mock packaging is now on display in the foyer of the front office!
Year 10 Photography
Finishing off the semester of Photography, students put their photoshop skills to the test to plan and create a 'multiplicity' photoshoot. Students were successfully able to clone themselves and create impressive photographs.
