Rent Roll Bought with Franchise Savings Makes Biggest Redland Agency

It’s no secret that FN Cleveland (Qld) principal, Ryan McCann vowed, when switching to First National from a franchise competitor, that he’d invest his annual savings on membership fees in buying local rent rolls.

Starting in 2015, Ryan and his cousin Lisa Turner bought Ryan’s parent’s rent roll.

Each year, successive rent rolls have been purchased and, just lately, FN Cleveland has made its biggest investment in a rent roll since starting its rental division in 2019.

Having just signed off on the purchase of 350 new managements, the total number of rental properties under FN Cleveland’s management now numbers 835, making FN Cleveland the largest rental business in Redlands.

With the latest tranche of properties, Ryan and Lisa have welcomed Kris Betts, Sam Nagle and Debbie Dekker of Home Rentals Queensland to the growing team at FN Cleveland. We also welcome Vicky Robinson who has been hired to manage the growth. They’re pictured here in their first property management meeting; getting to know the team.

In an interesting twist to the story, it wasn’t until Ryan was picking up the keys to the new rent roll in Capalaba that he realised Home Rentals Queensland had been operating from an office his father had built in the 1980s. Ryan’s dad ran his real estate business there, and Ryan had spent many an afternoon there after school doing his homework.

‘I messed up their walkie talkie’s, I played with their Teledexes, scribbled in their diaries and swung circles in their chairs. I was the boss’s son but they all treated me like their own. I loved being there and hanging out,’ says Ryan.

Congratulations Ryan and Lisa, and welcome to First National Real Estate Kris, Sam Debbie and Vicky.

Principal Donates Self to Declutter Bin

FN Warragul (Vic) helps its vendors get prepared for sale by offering a collection bin where they can donate pre-loved items. This not only makes their move easier and helps them achieve a better sale price, somebody else gets the benefit of the belongings rather than them being thrown away.

Co-principal, Carmen Christie, didn’t hesitate to help with promotion of the service, diving right in – so to speak.

Leveraging Expertise to Guide Customers

In a great example of our agents working together in the interests of consumers, Josh Grieve from FN Rayner (Ballan, Vic) did a video interview with Zach Reid of FN Atherton (Qld) discussing the what, why and wherefore of moving from Victoria to Queensland. What a great idea!

Hello Casino!

Sales agent Cindy Richards of FN Casino (NSW) donned one of the agency’s new caps and modelled it for their Facebook page. Nice work, Cindy.

Take Your Dog to Work Day

June 23 was National Take Your Dog to Work day and we spotted fur-friends at FN Manly (NSW) and FN By The Bay (Birkdale, Qld).

Chloe works as principal Rebecca Dean’s EA but is also a licenced real estate agent. Congratulations Chloe.

Holiday Visit

While holidaying in the northern NSW town of Yamba, Victorian BGM and auctioneer, James Bateman, called in at FN Yamba to say hello to the team. Here he is pictured with David Lovell.

Visiting Head Office

Alanas Som (Operations) and Belinda Leah (Admin) of FN Waverley City (Mt Waverley, Vic) called in to head office recently to mee the team. Of course, no visit is complete without a snap in front of the Monopoly board!

Left to right we have Andrew Dodemaide (Digital Marketing Services Executive), Alanas, Hannah Kim (Digital Marketing Executive), Belinda and Andhika Syatria (Digital Marketing Coordinator).

Thanks for popping in Alanas and Belinda.

Answers to Arnie…

FN Townsville has a strange new presence who is not big on small talk.

He’s apparently quite good at opening doors at open homes, stopping traffic and leaving Wayne Nicholson speechless!
