Year 11 Performance Evening

On the 30th of May the Year 11 performing arts students presented their end of semester work at an evening show for family and friends. It was wonderful to be able to present for live audiences again after several years of relying on filmed versions. At this presentation the year 11 Drama students performed their final ensemble pieces for the semester whilst the music students presented a variety of solo and group performances.

The year 11 Drama work centered around “The Modern Day Witch Hunt”. Two groups performed on the evening:

“Which Witch?”

Summer B, Anna B, Meg C, Sophie M-R & Paris V

What is the question that everyone has been DYING to know the answer to? “Witch” death would you KILL to hear about most? Gameshow host Brian is ready to answer the question lingering on everyone’s minds. How did women die through the centuries? Which death did you find most interesting? From the very beginning in the 13TH century where smart and intelligent women were perceived as witches.

 Drama Group “Define a Witch”

                  Emily H, Cass L, Brooke M, Violet P, Sammi S & Eve W

“Define a Witch” explores the restraints placed upon women throughout history and how that has translated into modern times. This performance uses a split courtroom as a background to investigate society's continued attempt to define women as either good or evil. An omnipresent judge presides over two simultaneous trials, showcasing the stories of two women scorned.

There was also an array of music performances with highlights including a few fabulous group performances.

Year 9 Performance Evening

On the 7th of June was the year nine performance evening! This night was a great opportunity to showcase the talent in year nine. This included groups from our one and only year nine actors workshop class who got to perform finished skits about being a teenager. As well as this we had vocalists, students who take dance as an elective, an acapella choir and more! Overall, it was a super fun evening and thank you all so much for coming!
